Here is a guy I picked up today. Everyone was at the reenactment so the battlefield and town are clear so I stopped by GB toy soldiers. John sold most of his FL. He said he had to quick try and order some more. So here he is. And a photo of the Archer plaque and showing where they advanced during . Longstreets assault. gettysburg 150th anniversary july 4th 025 (640x480).jpggettysburg 150th anniversary july 4th 026 (640x480).jpggettysburg 150th anniversary july 4th 029 (640x480).jpggettysburg 150th anniversary july 4th 023 (640x480).jpg

Wonderful addition to your collection and wonderful photos as well. I picked up that guy last year at the Fredericksburg Toy Soldier Show. I am sure it has been a madhouse in Gettysburg the past few days.

When I saw this piece, I just had to get it. And with it a few of his brothers. It is great piece!!

Thanks Lo. It has been busy. But not as bad as I expected. What I did was pick a spot to part and just walk a lot :)

But I tried to stay away from choke points. So I avoided the town until today when it was deserted because of the reenactment going on.

I hear ya! Most of his FL was sold out. So when I saw this guy. I decided to pull the trigger!

One of the greatest choice, I ever made. I Was not planning to get into the ACW. But saw this, And as you put it. Pulled the trigger. And will never regret it.

I hear ya. I started out with SL and have been picking up one at time. (slowly but steadily). I couldn't decide which flag bearer to get. But I liked the battle honors painted it. Look really good!

By the way Brad, I noticed your new avatar of General Slocum. That's an interesting choice. What's the story behind you choosing him?

Hi Cameron

Although I really love the FL Confederates. I have to admit. I am a Yankee at heart :) I always thought Slocum was an under rated General who was solid (not brilliant) as a corp commander. I was always impressed with his simple quote at the council with Meade on July 2nd. "Stay and fight it out". Simple and too the point. And with the anniversary of Gettysburg. I thought. What the heck. I will change my avatar to honor him. I was thinking about changing my avatar to Sickles. But people would think I was crazy! :) Brad

I wasn't going to join in on this as whenever I do there is always so much bs written about agendas or motives bla bla. But I don't care now, this is a superb piece really nice figure and I kind of want one myself now!.

Rob

Great piece although I think the flag-bearer for the 55th is still the best.

Go for it Rob! :) I also like the drummer boy.

Hi Brad

The reason I like this piece is not the pose. But I like the fact that the battle honors are on the flag and it is to a specific unit. I probably will end up with the 55th. I noticed at Johns shop. the 13th seems to sell quicker. My guess is the battle honors and holes are an eye catcher. The other Brad :)

Brad,

It could be that people like to go for the newer releases :smile2:

I'm sure all ACW figures must have done well this week. Maybe we'll get a few new collectors.

No doubt got some new collectors. I remember who told me a few Artillery reinactors came in and bought the entire Artillery set. I am looking forward to the Yanks in September. The ironic thing is that the Yanks actually can have a variety of Uniforms if FL focuses on that area (McPherson). They could get Iron Brigade, PA Bucktails, and Zouaves . Some very distinctive units.

Yes you can imagine some fathers being dragged into the Toy shops in Gettysburg this week can't you!{eek3}

Oh don't worry. I am a Reb at heart, but will be picking up ALL of the future Iron Brigade release.

Another great addition to your collection Brad, and your background work is fantastic:)...Sammy
