I just watched this a couple of nights ago. Granted that some situations were a little OTT but the scene of Rambo firing an RPG from inside a helicopter thru the front window with hostages sitting the back was a bit too much. Anyway, it was quite enjoyable.

Granted that the series has many OTT moments but I found that the 4th film was the best one since the 1st film. -- Al

You have to remember that they are "classic" 80's pop corn movies especially part 2 and 3,
First Blood was definitely the best though great scene with SLY busting out of the Cop Station then Brian Dennehy chasing after him!
I did enjoy part 4 which had a totally different film style and look.......I still remember being a 14 year old kid seeing part 2 at the Cinema way back in 1985 ^&grin

I always remember the third movie being dedicated to the 'gallant people of Afghanistan'.

The 3rd movie was indeed dedicated to the gallant people of Afghanistan. I couldn't stand the 4th movie (hence my trilogy) as it featured him ferrying a bunch of missionaries to the Karen people of Burma, and the rest of the movie had him just standing there and using an oerlikon-like gun to shoot at everything. Not very interesting.

The 2nd movie had him using the term" we are expendables". The love interest in that movie told John Rambo " You are not an expendable". Obviously he ignored her advice later.
