Great stuff, Gid! I used to love checking out your collection at that odd shaped apartment you and Neesha lived in in Fort Green, Brooklyn. I miss you guys!

Wow, those are some great pieces, Gideon! I like the Bub tank, especially, and the look inside at the clockwork drive that runs it. It makes me think about what goes into producing something like that. You have to have the metallurgy and mining technology to produce the ore and the metal. You have to have the skill and knowledge to develop the tooling, both for the clockworks inside, and the stamped sheets that make the parts. Imagine having to make all of the pieces yourself, by hand. I don't know where I'm going with this, except to say, it's impressive. People don't think about these things, they take pictures with their phones, but they don't appreciate what supports that functionality. Astounding--and this is a toy!

Sorry, I've digressed! Fantastic pieces!

Prosit!

The Karl Bub piece is a real prize as are my Marklins.

I included the photo of the gears to show the outstanding quality Bub produced. The gears are so finely made and they are thick compared to Tippco, Gescha, Gama and other makers. The original key is impressive as well.

Yeah, there was a lot that went into making those toys, even down to the paint jobs and lithography.
