Perhaps I'm prejudice but a reissue of the Seaforth Hichlanders in the Scarlet tunic white foriegn service helmut circa 1880, with the new style matte and fantastic sculpt....EH!!

I'll second that. Were these on the Northwest Frontier? I know the 72nd (Seaforths) participated in the 2nd Afghan War of 1879. A while back Louis Badalato said that K&C might re-issue some of their 19th C colonial troops.

Yes Randy, I mentioned that this had been discussed with Andy at last year's Chicago Show. If it is going to happen, I bet it will either be announced at this year's Chicago Show in a few weeks, or in time for Christmas. We'll have to wait and see.

I have been hoping for a while now that NWF, or any 19th C. colonial subject matter would be one of the long awaited new ranges. The 72nd Seaforths were indeed present with Roberts' column throughout the 2nd Afghan War, but were dressed in khaki tunics and Royal Stewart tartan trews. By the time they arrived in Egypt/Sudan a year or so later they had made the switch to Mackenzie Seaforth Kilts. The only other Highland regiment present in Afghanistan were the 92nd Gordons, also part of Roberts' column initially.

That would be a good series there if king & country made those again.

So Louis, I keep coming back to this statement and I must say I find it very intriguing. Can you tell us anything more of interest about this possibility. I'll admit this is some of my favorite subject matter and I would be ecstatic if these figures were to actually materialize in the current matte format.

All I can tell you Dave, is that it was seriously discussed. There was even mention of an idea for a diorama to launch the series - something along the lines of the Dargai Heights, although that would mean the Gordons.

Although I have never sent a text message in my life, this would truly be an OMG moment for me. Thanks for the additional info. and hope to meet you soon.

It's funny I was just wishing out loud about this very subject on another thread (check out post #24 on the K&C news from Hong Kong thread).

Dave

This would be soooo darn cool.

Check out Andy's new "More Questions & Answers" thread. He's says he intended to do the matt Highlanders for Chicago, but it got pushed back. He said not to worry, it will happen.:cool:

That is good news...better late than never would certainly apply in this case. :)
