Hello Tree Froggers

We introduce a new range of matte, 54mm WW2 painted miniatures.

NZ 002.jpg

We are a new venture into 54mm Matte figures. We will be featuring WW2 figures for now and have some D-Day Anniversary figures just released.

At present we have :

SS Trooper with Panzerfaust - £42.50
British and Polish Tankie in Beret - £38.00
British and Polish Tankie in Forage Cap - £38.00
British Para in Helmet - £38.00
British Para in Beret - £38.00
US Para in Helmet - £38.00
British Rifleman in Helmet - £38.00

Mail me at brucembonus@hotmail.co.uk for details.

Our figures are sculpted, cast and painted in England. They come on a 40mm dia terrain base which helps ensure they are sturdy on their feet!

Here is our first batch:

We would really like to hear what people think.

What about the price, poses, scale, paint style and bases?

We are setting our stall out as connoisseur painted figures at a mid price range. Each figure is cast and painted by hand in England, so there will be a limited number of each produced.

Your feedback would be most welcome.

thanks

These are great looking figures Bruce, well sculpted and painted. I particularly like the British ones. I noticed you had previously posted looking for details as to who was producing Cheshire Volunteer figures and I can see similarities.

Are you planning on selling castings? I think the British guys would look good done in glossy.

Anyway, good luck with them and nice to see some more 54mm figures.

Scott.

These are nice as stand alone pieces but I don't know about for diorama purposes. The bases are kind of large.Maybe they should be detachable which I wish a lot of makers would use. They are nice bases though.

No plans to sell castings at this time.

Thanks for the comment. We love 54mm, but we are unsure about this in a market dominated by larger 1/30 scale figures for WW2.

Thanks

Bruce

I think the bases are my influence as I am a wargamer at heart!

If you shrunk them down they would be based as per wargame figs. The thinking is to avoid the dreaded clunk and paint loss when you knock a figure over by giving them a larger footprint.

I value your comment as it is one of our concerns. They do look good, but the bases limit what you can do with them.

We might revert to a smaller base and keep the larger bases for one-off commemorative figures such as this first D-Day range. We have 8 figures in this range so far. Future ranges would be more action poses in squads so they should have smaller, plainer bases.

Thanks guys

Bruce

Hi Bruce,
I think that the figures are great. I particularly, like the large bases for the reasons you mentioned. I have a number of Frontline FI grenadiers and the bases are too small. Hence they frequently topple over when I open my cabinet. As for bases impeding dioramas, that is an unresolved question. As I live in the States, 38GP works out to 65USD per figure, thus I will not be purchasing large quantities of your product. Therefore, the larger bases are fine for me. Any chance for figures from modern conflicts, such as SAS in Oman or Malaysia, Arab-Israeli wars, etc?
Good luck,
Benjamin

We are a small and lean two man band, so we can react to customer demand quite well I hope. We can cater for most requests if we can work together. If you pre-order figs in sufficient numbers then we could start a range in that field.

What specifically were you thinking off?

Those theatres interest me as I am old enough to have served with old sweats that served in Oman etc!

kind regards

Bruce

Here are a couple of one off specials.

On the left is a 12th SS trooper, Hitler Jurgend Division. This division liberated a large supply of Italian cammo material earlier in the war and used it extensively. He has Italian cammo trousers and late war gaters and boots. His Jacket is pea type cammo. This Division, known as The Baby Soldiers fought to a standstill in Normandy.

Next to him is an SAS Bren gunner from Operation Bulbasket in France June to August 1944. B Sqaudron SAS operated with French resistance behind the lines to slow up German reinforcement moving north to Normandy. Our trooper wears rubber boots, often favoured by RN and Commando personnel and the cammo pattern windproof smock.

Both these and the other figures are available directly from me at brucembonus@hotmail.co.uk.

The figures are £38 each or £78 for the pair. They come in a commemorative D-Day box and postage is £3.20 for UK and £cost for other locations.

More D-Day figures are on their way!

regards
Bruce

These figures look very nice.

Any chance you could post a picture of a figure with a ruler next to it to show actual size. I realize they are stated as 54mm but I have plenty of 1/32 figures that measure 60-62mm in height. I'm curious how these compare in size to First Legion figures.

For inputs, as others have said I think the bases are too large.

Since you have British and Polish tankers any chance of some German tankers in black uniforms and camoflage?

Here is a shot with some Britains Red/Bluecoats for size comparison. Our figures are true 1/32 scale.

We can make anything. I will take your suggestion re Panzer crew under consideration.

As to the bases, we add those and make each one by hand. The bottoms are felt covered to add to the quality.

We will paint a batch with their small bases unmounted (about the same size as those on the Red/Bluecoats)

Thanks for your input

Bruce
