Ready4action Glossy 7YW Prussians (1 Viewer)

On FB search for Bruce Murray or alternatively William Britain Toy Soldier Collectors - he just posted some comparison pics with WB glossys

I have put up a Seven Years War page now at https://www.r4a.info/seven-years-war-gloss-1-32/

You can order the first of the figures from there.

An NCO figure with cane has gone off for casting now so expect him soon.

thanks for all the interest.

I really hope we can grow this range as I love it!

Brad, I am just picking up info and photos from the owner’s FB page. I think this is where we are:

“The first three figures are:
Standing firing
Bringing musket down into the aim
Bringing musket down with bandaged head.”

“The next two are Reload and at rest. These poses can make up your third rank.”

“NCO and flag bearers soon! “

These figures are available from Ready4Action at £24.50 each.

As to the cavalry, I think Bruce said they started out as DEL PRADO.

You are correct, but just to be clear those Cavalry are Del Prado that I repainted for my own collection. I will be doing some Prussian Cavalry but they will be our own sculpts.

The Prussians are at https://www.r4a.info/seven-years-war-gloss-1-32/

I've just been inspecting the finer details on the painting, and I find this:

  • Buttons should be white metal, not brass.

  • Pom pom on hat should be white blue, white and red centre.

  • Buttons on gaiters should be pewter.

  • Sword knot should be red with blue end on a white strap

All the rest looks correct, right down to the Swedish cuffs with 2 buttons :)

John

Thanks John. I relied on Osprey too much I think. I am now reading the kronoskaf.com website with The Seven Years War Project which is excellent.

These are my own preproduction masters so I can pick these details up on the production figures which are being painted at the moment.

Can I send you pictures of forthcoming releases for comment? I appreciate the input.

Yes, I wondered how far he'll carry this series. It would be nice to have some other arms, like cavalry. Are the cavalry in the background in your photos also from Ready4Action, Andreas? I saw hussars in the one photo, and some cuirassiers in another.

Also, it'd be nice to see some subjects from some of the other countries involved in the Seven Years War, eventually.

Prost!
Brad

The Hussars are Hecker & Goros from my own collection (at £50 a casting I only have 3!) Bavarians I think. The Cuirassiers are Del Prado that I repainted for myself. You may have seen a single Esterhazy Hussar, he is Petite Guerre Toy Soldiers from Nino, a friend of mine.

I will be doing Cavalry if the range has the take up Im hoping for.

Hi, Bruce, thanks! I found your Facebook page and got to look at more of your photos. We share an interest in the same period and style, it seems.

Your 15th Foot, I think it was-did I understand the caption correctly, that some of those are converted Britains Redcoats? Were you able to get unpainted castings, or did you use the finished figures and strip them down? I would love to be able to get unpainted ones!

I wasn't sure if those hussars in the background were Hussar Miniatures, from Fusilier. I like the Del Prado cuirassier officer, too, but I was always disappointed that they didn't make a trooper to go with him.

For British cavalry, I've been using Imrie-Risley light dragoons for the 15th. When Tradition brought out the dragoon kits, that was a welcome addition, too.

I've got some Rose Prussian dragoons, but riders only. I scrounge horses from various places, like Britains Deetail horses, for example.

The rest are odds and ends, castings from so many different sources-Tradition, Puchala, Hecker & Goros, too, Rylit, Rose, Phoenix, old Staddens.

I look forward to seeing more of these, and I hope you do bring out more subjects.

Prost!
Brad

We are releasing other regiments of the figures. Here is a musketeer of the 7th Regiment.

I have seen other manufacturers produce the flag bearers for this regiment. on their figures the officers coats have turn backs. My understanding was officers in the Prussian Army wore their coats un-turned back. That is the way we are producing our officers.

Our plan is to release regiments for the Prussians and Russians that fought at The Battle of Gross-Jagersdorf, August 1757.

This will include Chuguev Cossacks and Ruesch Hussars (Black Deaths Head)!

Anyway here is the 7th Musketeer Regiment in all its finery.

Correct, the Prussians wore their coat skirts unhooked, except when mounted.

Prost!

Nice looking figure Bruce, and he also has the pink Swedish cuff with silver buttons, most accurate !!!!

Well done, and looking forward to those Russians too.

Re: Ready4action Glossy 7YW Prussians - NEW! mounted Prussian dragoons

Morning, everyone, Bruce shared pics to his Facebook page today, of the next item in the SYW Prussian series-a mounted Prussian dragoon figure.

Here are the URLs for the pics; hopefully you'll be able to see them by following the links:

Bruce commented that they will be painted for the Stechow regiment at Kunersdorf, but they could be painted as any of the regiments that had lapels on their coats (not all of them did).

It's nice to see this series expand!

Prost!
