I was thinking how impressive it would be to take my AWI diorama to the next level, by having a little button that you can press and you get realistic battlefield sound effects, like men shouting, muskets firing etc and even perhaps the tune of 'British Grenadiers' playing. That would really bring the figures to life!:D

Is there anyone on the forum who has thought about doing something relevant for their own setup or has attempted something like this themselves?

I was thinking that I could use an audio sample from The Patriot, but thats all to technical for me!

Since I originally posted this I found this website which is the sort of thing I mean, its got soldiers marching, shouting, dying effects!!

A great idea for a dio.

My idea was to find some mp3 files and then download them to a cheap mp3 player that is hooked up to a pair of speakers.

And since I have a number of bands and marching troops the options are endless......................................

Hello, M'L'd Cornwallis! When I read your post, the first person who came to mind is Jim Hillestad, of The Toy Soldier, he has audio loops that play in his museum, and he could probably recommend some to you, if he doesn't already make them and sell them himself.

His website is

http://www.the-toy-soldier.com/home.cfm?siteid=259&itemcategory=31837&priorId=0

and there is a link there to contact him.

Prost!
Brad

PS-if you're at work, or your PC is in some other public place, or you have headphones on, mute your volume, his website launches into British marches, when you navigate to it.
