I just received my Sir Archibalt Douglas, MK076, from the Crusades series. This figure sports a real and very colorful coat of arms that is reminiscent of the American flag. I like the battle-worn effects on this figure...the dirtied edges and cuts in the shield, damaged chain mail, etc. This is one of my favorite standing Medieval figures to date. The K&C Crusades series just keeps getting better and better.

Well, this knight is Scottish. According to K&C, Sir Douglas is from the 13th century. The Scottish war of independance was apparently in 1314, which is the very early 14th century. I would assume that Sir Douglas might still be alive and well and that his coat of arms would still be relevant in the time of the war of Scottish independance. Therefore, my guess is that this figure would go well in a diorama depicting the Scottish war of independance. It's a very colorful, fun figure.

Here is your answer. Check out coat of arms of the figure in the lower part of this image that depicts Robert the Bruce in the war of Scottihs independance.

Good work George...we're gonna put you in charge of research from now on....

Thank you, Michael. It seems to me that K&C may be taking a new direction here. The only foot knight released in the last Crusades release, actually ties in better with the Robert the Bruce two-piece vignette than with the Crusades offerings. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some Scottish spearmen and opposition English knights released in the not-too-distant future.

George...

you just sold me on your conspiracy theory...lol...

with the picture you posted of the Scottish War of Independence...

having Archibalt Douglas and Bruce together...

coupled with the "seperate listing" of the Battle of Bannockburn on Sierra's website as a sub-category under the King & Country Medieval Collection...

I would not be surprised either to see K&C expanding their Medieval Collection towards the Scottish War of Independence...

this could be a very colorful series...I would collect it...

Hi Scott,

Here's another figure that would fit well with the Scottish war of Independance.
