Rectify - Season Two (1 Viewer)

I would rank this show on the Sundance channel as equal to True Detective or Fargo which is high praise. I believe the entire first season may be ON Demand if you have that service. Season two begins next week, but can't be fully enjoyed without watching the first season:

"Daniel Holden was imprisoned as a teenager for the rape and murder of his 16-year-old girlfriend, Hanna. After spending 19 years on death row, new DNA evidence vacates his original trial. He returns to his hometown of Paulie, Georgia. The subsequent adjustments and events in the lives of Daniel, his extended family, and the townfolk are related as a character study in a slowly unfolding Southern Gothic story."

Speaking of Fargo, I love the accent on those charectors. If I was from that area I would be somewhat embarressed as it makes them all look a bit dimwitted!

Tom Hanks' son plays one of those characters. This is a guy who grew up in Beverly Hills among the mega rich and famous, but he does a great job making himself appear as a local yocal. I was in Minnesota only once and really liked the people. I wouldn't want to be there in the winter though. No matter how nice they are.

Some reviews. The show moves at a very slow pace which may not work for some. But it's great TV. I do strongly recommend watching the first season to have idea what is going on in season 2. I understand it's available via Netflix.

Season two just ended. A great show. I rank it the equal of True Detective and Fargo. It's almost unfortunate that it airs on Sundance but that is the probably the only place that a show like this gets made.

I keep expecting this show to take the typical quality dive but so far season three is as good as the first two seasons. Maybe the best thing going with the demise of True Detective. You do have to start at the beginning though and probably can't follow the story without having watched the first two seasons.

Only one episode left in the series. Probably the best TV series over the past few years. Unfortunately it airs on Sundance so a lot of folks probably missed it. You have to watch from the beginning though. Not a show that can be picked up a couple seasons in.
