Can someone please tell me if they tried to put one of the new Figarti trains on a MARKLIN or LGB track yet??? IMO the Figarti tracks has too much "roadbed" on it..

If not, how" not thinking ahead " would that be. It would not have been rocket science to make it fit any mainstream available track. For a modeler wanting to create a longer scene or kitbashing euro-styled Marklin or LGB cars ( passenger coaches ) to add to the mix, it becomes much more difficult. Michael

It does look like there is to much ballast with the Figarti tracks but it works out quite nice really. The pictures don't really do them justice and lets not forget these are done "the Figarti way". The roadbed isn't as over done, seen in person. The Figarti style is the art..:)

I will take one of my railcars to Charles Rowe's to fine out for you.., when I find time..:) To bad I didn't think of doing it today as I was just a couple of blocks away from CR's..

P.S. The railcar boxes say there's only going to be 108 set of each made.

Only 108 of each? Is this confirmed?

Yes....that's what it said on the box sticker.

Only 70 are for the US market.....so the 38 will go Europe I assume...

Seriously - it would be nice if MR FIGARTI himself could come out and answer the track question.

The trains fit on LGB Track. I believe Rick got alot of feedback that making the trains work with existing Rail systems would be a good idea. The Figarti roadbed is bigger than the LGB rubber roadbed.

Seriously, i received the flatcar today.. This package was $200.. If it hadn't come with a piece of track, it probably would have been around $150 correct? Also the track has way too much ballast! Right now the industry has me really ticked off!

I don't understand what you mean about too much ballast. I have an extensive large scale train collection and to have a car weathered and have a ballast track would cost alot more than $200 dollars. The detail in the ballast is over the top. I was fortunate to see the Trains at the Chicago Show and bought the entire set.

I'm not sure what your saying about "the detail in the ballast is over the top" ....

I have not seen a better made ballast. Mind you, it is not intended for running trains, but it terms of display, its hard to imagine any possible improvement.

Your comments, are reassuring...as you collect the large scale trains and know what's available out there and the prices......

Myself, I'm happy with the "Figarti Way".....and I see you are as well...:)

With regard to the engines, you couldn't find a thrashed LGB or Marklin for $399.
