Releases? (1 Viewer)

John should be releasing sometime this week any thoughts on whats coming?

He needs Brits for 1812,

different poses,

colour bearers,

ranking officers,

and casulaties.

He needs Brits for the Jacobites,

different poses,

colour bearers,

ranking officers,

and casualties on both sides (Jacobites too).

I would like to see some Jacobites too,

maybe one with a bagpipe,:cool::cool:

maybe one with a pitchfork.:cool::cool:

Anything for Snow Shoes or B of M would be welcome.

Indians, 44th, French, 44th casualties for B of M.

I would love to see 44th casualties for B of M.:cool:

He mentioned that the most requested pieces at the symposium were for "firing line" for 44th.

I would like some rangers for the RR's.

I would like...........:D

I would like...........:D

I would like...........:D

Oh Apache, I'm sorry, I got carried away, you asked what we thought was coming, I used this as my Christmas list, lol.

Hey Titus,

I doubt if we will on these production releases,

but I really believe John is trying hard to satisfy loyal requests,

and I think we might in 3-4 months.

We will see.

I hope so too.

I'm guessing we get a good dose of POA releases in the next few months. Maybe a new BOS each month until that series wraps up in the fall. I'm a little surprised at the 1812 Brits. They look a lot alike. I know it is a firing line, but you could buy multiples rather than releasing the same pose in different sets. Not complaining just an observation. It seems to be a different approach from BM and POA.

Yea, I wouldn't expect any more "firing line" figures for the Brits of Chippewa.

You can buy multiples of already released sets to achieve the same effect,

and by the way, I much prefer the boyonet fixed to the bayonet in scabbord.

For the Jacobites Brits, the same applies on "firing line" figures. John has loading and firing sets done, so don't expect any more of them either.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see "bayonet lunging" figures of either series for the Brits.

I would love to see some Brit casualties the most, for 1812 and Jacobites.

Doug, is the BOS supposed to end this fall? It's over?

Also, is there a newsletter to subscribe to?

I have forbid myself to buy any more of the POA, I have 3-QB06, 3-QB07 and 2-QB20.

I WILL SHOW SOME RESTRAINT!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Is the "due date" always the first of the month?

I recall "fall' mentioned for the end of BOS, but this is not an exact science. Anything is possible as with the BM sets which John appeared to be wrapping up. Langy and Rogers were mentioned as among the last for BOS. Hopefully John sticks with French-Indian War. Maybe something small like Fort Necessity. Ticonderoga is still the white whale for us collector Ahabs.

Hi Combat / Mike

This is merely my differing view ... One of the strong points for JJD's has been its slightly differing firing line. The slight variations add greatly to a more realistic, and perhaps not so stiff looking firing line ... advancing column etc etc.

Looking at the BCH numbers .. I am sure John will get around to the Officers, color bearers etc etc in due course. What I am guessing
is ... that by then, it will be almost too late to beef up on the firing line because these would mostly be sold out.

To my great regret, I missed out on the earlier BM Redcoat releases .. so I am happy to stock up on the 1812 Guards.

Also, although from different regiments, they look especially great together with another manufacturer's NAP Coldsteam figures. :D
I hope to share some pics of my "combined" firing line out later ... but I am not quite sure where to post ?

Best wishes

Dragon,

You're making a good point on subtle differences and slight variations loosening up a stiff firing line.

The clone effect is not very realistic at second glance.

These are some Frontlines of the 24th Foot.

They were all from the same mother and father, born in a group of 30 twin brothers.:eek::eek:

I already stocked up on BCH firing lines, 3-BCH01, 3-BCH02, 3-BCH06, 1-BCH10 and 2-BCH11's.

Most of these are 500 or 750 LE sets, so they will probably be around for a while.

Post those K&C and JJ's photos right here please.

They are similar, I would love to see them together.

I'm not sure I would mix different regiments together, especially if they were not historically involved in that battle.

The Sierra newsletter indicates the June releases will be announced this week. Maybe today.:)
