The TCS reloader sets are very well done and make a nice display with any Sherman tank. I use the German reloader set with the TCS Jagdpanther. I hope TCS makes a reloader set for the M26 Pershing. The current set will work, but the shell size is too small for the 90mm gun of the M26. Ammo for the US reloaders would also be nice.

Wayne: The Sherman is a Diecast model made by the Franklin Mint and authorized by the Patton Museum. The model is identical to one displayed there. The tracks and suspension work and the turret has interior detail. The T-23 turret even has the part number cast in relief. A very realistic model of a 1944 M4A3E8 76mm HVSS.

Great set from Coleectors Showcase , been trying to get hold of it for some time now but no luck as yet. I intend to use it with a KC Sherman,i think the scale of the figures would be OK for this purpose. Your Sherman is nicely done but a little on the large size for the figures.....but you probabaly realised that anyway..!!

The figures are available on Ebay. The figures are 65mm tall from top of base to top of head; about 1/27th scale. The FM Sherman is 1/24 scale. The figures are within the normal variation of human height for 1/24 scale. Consider that tankers were relativly short; not a lot of room inside a Sherman or a Tiger I either!

Thanks for the tip, not looked on Ebay for a while, but it lways works that way..look for something and it"s not to be found, don"t look and you fall over it...!!!. Checked out my Sherman map with loads of pics and i have to say i still find your tank as nice as it is still a little large for the figures. Obviously there are little guys and big guys but the average hieght seems to be >>top of head/helmet just at or just under the top deck plate at it"s highest point. Anyhow there is no point in getting into a scale discussion...(there have been far too may of those on the forum) as i always say ..."Ïf it rocks your boat then go sailing" Have fun...!!.

Thank you for the critique of the Sherman and the figures. I can only find figures properly sized to a tank in 1/35 or 1/32 except for First Legion which does not yet make late war tanks.
I have looked at quite a few WWII era photos of Sherman Tanks and typically the average person does not stand higher than 4 inches below the deck. The deck of an M4A3E8 is 76 inches high; not many 6'4: American troops were in Europe in 1944. A recently posted photo on the forum showed about 6 US troops sheltering beside a Sherman tank. The shortest was shorter than the rear deck of the Sherman. The tallest was as high as the top of the extra armor plate over the ammo magazine with the hull star on it. The Troops were all wearing helmets which adds about 1 1/2 inches in height. My criteria is that it is more realistic to have figures under the deck height than over it. I have seen many instances where the figures are too large rather than too small.

Thanks for the complement. I can only take credit for the M4 with the TCS figures of George Patton and the reloader set. The other photos are from the internet. I consider the B&W WWII photo the best illustration I have seen to date of the correct size relationship between troops and tanks.
No heads above the deck on that photo!
