Hey fellas

I'm looking to buy this field gun at some point. I am curious about a couple things regarding this piece:

1- Can someone provide me the measurements? I am considering placing it on the walls of a castle. I don't really need the entire length (ie from tip of the barrel to end of the brace) but rather how big would my wall fortification need to be to put this thing on it? I would assume I would be interested in the length from the end of the brace to the wheel carriage. If anyone can provide that to me, that would be grand!!!

2- First Legion's website states as such: This figure can be used as a Landsknecht in either the French or Imperial Army is the website therefore telling me the Landsknecht field gun would be historically accurate in a French Field army attacking a fortification held by another unit of Landsknecht's? Just curious about that- I don't really know anything about either force.

Best regards
CC

A beautiful piece, I have two of them. From the end of the brace to the wheel carriage is about 4 and 3/4" (5"to be safe). The total length with the barrel is 6 and 1/2".
The cannon is quite generic for the time period (early 1500's) and it could be used for many armies of that period.

The FL cannon is a great model; but is a field gun not a fortress gun.

I use Elastolin Fortress guns and Morters on walls. The 70mm models work well with the Landsknechts and are available on Ebay.

The Fortress gun truck is 2.750 inches long and 2.500 inches wide with 4 small wheels. The barrel length is 4 inches and is nicely molded with high relief carvings, dolphins and a Lions head breach. A sliding wedge provides elevation adjustment. The Morter is made in the same highly detailed style as the Fortress gun and has a detailed elevation adjustment gear. Both artillery pieces are historically accurate for the Renaissance period.
