Not enough winter for me. My understanding of whitewash is that it was applied by hand. It was poorly done. It came off easy. There was not enough of it to go around. The rain washed it off. Point is get your brush out and start washing!
Bravo. Job well done as it is true to the actual process. I really like it. As always, thanks for sharing. By the way, I love the fact that you caught the Toy Soldier WW II Winter Viral Syndrome!
I know this may be posted elsewhere but I forgot to ask what paint brands you utilize for the WW II items (especially the ones pictured); where you can get them; and how do you utilize "Brush Blend?" Finally, what would be a good match for the older K&C flesh tone blends as in the early WS poses? I have a very small blemish on a figure or two & tried blending multiple colors none of which I liked! Thanks for your time.
Marc I use Vallejo paints not exclusively but almost. I have seven flesh tone paints. My advice is buy a lot of them. You will see them when you get to a hobby shop. One thing Amaranth red thined out after the base and main skin tones are down will bring out the skin like K&C. Then come back over the the cheeks and chin, edge of nose with sunny skin.
The brush extender keeps the paint from drying too fast. Also helps when I mix colors together.
Thanks for the kind remarks!
One other note; Decora makes the Brush Blender and the gloss coats that I use for the different eqipment Belts , boots and what not.
