I saw these figures in a job lot of badly painted soldiers on EBay last year, but bid on them and others in the dozen when I realised what they were and then won!!

The soldiers are all British Yeomanry of the 1900's and (L to R) from Sarum and 3 from Tradition of London.

My first task was to remove the round base and cast some flat ones using Prince August moulds.

Then using Paint Stripper, remove the coats of paint to reveal the details beneath.

They then received a spray of white undercoat and tomorrow I'll start painting....

so watch this space to see a transformation....

The best way to find them John! The last figure in particular, the Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry should paint up well.

Here is Wednesday's work ....

they figures have a new flat base, and most of the big painting done.

Final finish will be gloss.

Here we are on Sunday evening, with the final picture of the completed 4 figures

Hope you like my transformation, and remember that even if a figure looks awful, remember that there could be a fine casting underneath those coasts a paint, and will love a makeover :)

I absolutely agree John - and if evidence were ever required - just take a look at these four beauties, and compare them with the earlier pics. Lovely Gloss finish John - well done again Sir!:salute::

Beautiful finish, John! I agree with you, I like to look at auctions like this, or to root through boxes and bins on dealers' tables at shows, you never know what you'll find. Great restoration!

Prost!
