Hello, I am planning on repainting a 21st century M24 Chaffee as French Foreign Legion vehicle in Indochina. I am planning on using Bison decals, however how should I prepare the vehicle for repainting. I do not care if the US decals are slightly visible as these vehicles were sent as aid to France.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Benjamin

I've repainted both my 1:16 Tiger 1 and KV1 (hard plastic body) and did not do anything before hand. Just painted over the original paint.
. You could prime it before repainting but imo it's not necessary.

Do make sure the surface is clean, though. Priming is intended to give your top coats something to bite into, and the finish paint 21st Century used is probably good enough, but you do want to clean off dust, and maybe use a solution of warm water and a drop of dishwashing liquid to clean the surface.

Prost!
