One of my favorite scenes in any war movie is the infantry-armor advance against the German fixed fighting positions in the wood line in "Fury." From the tracers bouncing off the tanks, to GI's huddling behind the Shermans for cover, it's one heck of scene.

I've always wanted to build a small diorama/vignette based off that scene. Due to the lack of late-war U.S. infantry, I figured I'd repaint some Battle of the Bulge GI's to late-war U.S. infantrymen pushing into Germany in the late winter/early spring by repainting the snow on their uniforms to mud.^&grin All the repainting was done with basic brown/black acryllics found at any local craft store.

Hope you enjoy!

Jake

This is one of my favorite poses that Andy has ever done. Speaking from my own personal experience, you can see Andy's experience as a combat vet and Royal Marine Commando coming into play here. One of the easiest shooting positions during bounding/returning fire is to quickly pop up on your knees, return fire, get back down and hug the ground.

The ground was repainted/dry brushed different shades of brown then adding static grass/PVA glue. I also muddied up the bottoms of the jackets, repainted the boots black, and then dry brushed "mud" onto the boots.

AND until I can remodify a Sherman, pick up some more BBA infantry to huddle behind the tank, here's a teaser shot of our GIs advancing into the Rhine sometime in March 1945. As usual, thank you to Andy for creating some dynamic poses that offer the collector an endless amount of opportunities to modify figures to fit in different parts of the ETO.

I must be missing something as I don't see any pictures?

There you go Jake; great job, thanks for sharing.........Fury; as we discussed, the tree line scene and the fighting in the town were first rate, as were the uniforms and equipment, the Tiger I was the one from Bovington, they built a concrete road for it and covered it with dirt for the action scenes...........but...........why would that Tiger come out of its cover after it lit up the tank at the rear of the column..........and that ending; two grenades get dropped in War Daddy's lap and after they went off, his hair was still in place..............that hokey ending ruined what was a very good movie up until that point.

They must have have stolen the "last minute replacement with no clue about how to fire a weapon/is a clerk typist/translator survives while all the combat veterans die" ending from SPV...................

George, many thanks!^&grin Unfortunately, this is all too often the case in war---people often get themselves killed, or get others killed through their stupidity.

Well done!

Carlos

Thanks, Carlos! Hopefully I can have as massive of a collection as you one day!:salute::

My thoughts exactly. Very good movie until the ending. Those domkof Germans charging straight ahead at a disabled tank, YEA.A private on his first day of basic training would have known better.
