Hi,
A few weeks ago, I received from a friend this damaged set (FIRST LEGION NAP 218).
I proceed to repair and to repaint this nice figure with a black flag (I missed to buy NAP 217 "black flag" now retired ) instead the white one.
And now the result:
Cheers

That is excellent work. I recently had a flag repaired and my friend, who is an expert craftsman, told me it was not an easy job.

Very well done - and a nice job on the repair and re-paint. Tricky to do - but not impossible, as you have shown. Just needs a steady hand, and a bit of patience and skill - which you have shown here. I also know just what a satisfying experience it is to "rescue" a piece such as this one. Good for you. jb

Well done on the repair!

So the First Legion flags are cast in one piece? Interesting design choice, it's a recipe for breaks.

Prost!

Baron,

The newer FL flag figures have the flag as a separate piece that fits on the end of the flagpole.

Hello Brad
First sets produced by First Legion had flags pinned in their hands, so a little shaky because the metal flag is heavy.
So, with new products , First Legion used usually separate flag, sometimes in resin cast.

Thanks Zblang, Brad, King's Man, Jb, Brad for your feedback.
It was a funny challenge to rescue this figure.
Best regards.

Hi Xavier,
I had exactly the same problem with the same figure - russian grenadier with white flag, pole broken at hand connection. Even although I bought it from authorized dealer.
And I was lucky to get last available figure with black flag from another dealer in Italy :)
Good job with repairment and painting.
Best Regards
Janusz

Thanks Janusz!
I don't despair to find a black flag bearer NAP 217 on the second market!
Best regards
Xavier
