Some stuff came into the shop awhile ago and I have been slowly getting them repaired. The first one here is or seems to be a russian figure who had been broken off his base

This is a Warwick Artillery team horse that I broke. He has been to hospital and his tail is feeling quite good.

Guys when you ship things, please for the love of toy soldiers, keep them firmly bubble wrapped. Swords and rifles should have extra care. Straws are great. Then and only thenpack them in an appropriate sized box. Keep the figures immobile and they should travel well. The owners of these figures did not know this. The seller should have known better.

The first figure got a new head. Where the old one went no one knows. The second one got a new rifle and a new head. Ok actually a new barrel for the rifle and bayonet.

This fellow almost lost his head. I reattached it and repainted the collar. I did not touch up the rest of these figures as these are antiques. Mignot to be exact.

Looking for advice on touching up flaked silver paint from a new Britains napoleonic officer's sword blade. Any suggestions on paint brand and prep would be appreciated. I'd attach a photo if the camera were not presently employed at a birthday. Thanks.

Mister D,

I am not sure of the types of paints used by W.Britains. I use Games Workshop or Vallejo Acryllics for touch ups. The nice thing about the acryllics is their ability to dry quickly. If you have siler I would start with that and then natural steel. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the advice, General. I will let you know how that works out.

Remove the flakes, sand whole blade, if necessary, then I use a paint marker of the appropriate color...Michael

That sounds even easier. It's great to have options, but do you recommend any particular brand of paint marker. Thanks for the tip.

I use Zig Painty markers, because they offer a nice variety of metallic colors..I buy them from A.C.Moore....Michael

I did not get to this project yet, though have located a stash of Zig painty markers in the kids craft heap...just need to look for the silver one. Thanks for checking.

Hi Vamp,

That is a very nice repair you performed. Congratulations on a job well done! Ron should be pleased.
