OK, I broke down and bought almost two hour's pay worth of Replicant's US Marines. Here are quick photos of the series before I have cleaned them or removed the flash. They ARE nice figures and are great for US Civil War.

You did a fantastic job with those BMC redoubts ....nice crisp shots too.

They do look good. How many poses are there altogether?

You get six poses, all good except the figure charging with one foot in the air. This one is a little off balance to my eye. It you get multiple sets, re-cycle the officer with other Replicant Civil War sets like the old Marxmen Union army or the Zouaves.
One set makes a nice diorama. Two or more gives you a small landing party. Since the figures have no canteens or haversacks, the "range" of their battles would have to be limited to raids or defense. I'm not sure if the US Marines fought in company lines other than 1st bull Run during the US Civil War so a unit fighting as skirmishers in open formation works for small numbers of this set.

These troops could also stand in for militia that still wore the cross belts rather than the usual waist belt carriage for the bayonet.

I did notice some debris and poor mix of the plastic color in the castings. The figures will still look okay unpainted after some removal of the flash. For the price I 'd like a little better quality control of the "cosmetics."

Hi Scott,
The figures look great, however, the BMC redoubts are excellent. What did you do to them?
Best wishes,
Benjamin

Thank you, I'd like to get more and leave them alone for my more "toy like" figures. The ones you see have have foam extensions, with "Crack Shot" spackling paste, white glue, paint, Railroad grass, and beach sand. A few popcicle sticks as well. The same effect can be had by cutting some gabions in half and building up with foam from there.
