Gentle Friends (do I have to pay royalties to be able to say that) -

Brad recently deleted a thread filled with back and forth personal attacks. In doing this he has my full support.

Toy soldiers exist to bring joy into our lives. The expectation what is coming - the anticipation of releases - the gentle prodding of manufacturers to get that special piece we want. It's a great time to be a soldier collector.

This Forum exists to add to the joy - to swap stories - to show dioramas - to ask questions.

From time to time people will disagree. That is normal. There are no zombies on this Forum - everyone has an opinion on something.

From time to time the forum has turned into a place for personal attacks. This will not be allowed to happen. While we are not 'Big Brother' out to crimp any discussion, attacks on character have no place here, whether they are implied or direct.

We are not asking that people become best of friends. If there's someone you don't care for - add them to your Ignore List and move on. Don't announce to everyone that you have done it - that is a form of personal attack.

This forum is about toy soldiers. Sure, we'll devolve into goofy banter from time to time. That's what friends do when they hang out together.

If you feel slighted by someone, address it in a PM in a constuctive manner. Remember always that in writing on-line people can't get a sense of the tone of your words. They may take things completely differently than you mean them. Be aware of this at all time.

Now, back to the soldiers ...

Now, back to the soldiers ...

Thank you Peter !

I shall start anew and look forward to positive conversation on our hobby.

Now - what should we talk about .... Napoleonics? :D

Regards, Ron

Well said Peter. One of the things i love about the forum is the spirit of friendliness and helpfulness in sharing our hobby. Its a great place to be and i for one am very glad peace reigns again.

Rob

Again I did not know what the recent spat was about, I did not really care. Most likely it was someone disagreeing with someones opinion. This is a hobby, enjoy it have fun. Not everyone will agree with you, about wish lists or color scemes on items. We should just express our opinions without insulting each other. Hobby On, Mike.

Let's all be friends.

I am with you Mike. I too do not know what the specifics are with whatever happened. And I guess that's a good thing that you and I both didn't know and hopefully many others were spared as well. I can't believe that so many "issues" and problems can come from a toy soldier discussion:confused: . I hope everyone can remember something we all should have been taught in our childhood and that is "if we can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". Thanks Peter for your statement and hopefully that will be the last of this.

Gentlemen

Last Nights discussion went a little beyond a simple disagreement of opinions -it had alot to do with actions and deceit. But, it has been addressed and we are moving on in a positive fashion. Hopefully others will follow.

Toy Soldiers discussion do not create issues - people do. This subject is closed and hopefully will not occur again.

And I do want to enjoy talking about Toy Soldiers and our hobby in general. This is a great forum with great people.

We all should embrace differences of opinion and discuss our likes and dislikes of everthing - let us find unity in diversity....I kinda like that one :D

Hi Rob,

Don't drink whisky! pass the Old Peculier  Before any one asks it's a dark, strong beer, Old Peculier is justifiably famous (well in the UK at least) for its rich and complete character, its sheer strength – and for being a beer with a long history. A few pints of that and you begin to feel Old and a bit Peculier!
It appears that things must have come to a head the other night. Since the beginning of this year there have been more upsets than the previous 18 months and I have great sympathy for Shannon, Pete and Brad (who must be near despair by now having to read all the c..p that has appeared lately).
I can't understand that with all the excellent product that is coming out that we members can find the time to get bitter and twisted with each other.
I'm not going to post anymore about this and so I am going off to buy some castings and start painting an Elephant Battery for the "How To" section.

Regards

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I'm afraid i've always been a whisky man, never could get the taste for beer.(Meant i got drunk quicker when i was young though!!)I hear what your saying about the forum, but hopefully things have settled now.Its amazing the Passion this hobby provokes. Its sad to see people getting so irate when we should be celebrating our hobby.I know there will always be people who don't get on,but if we can just calm the waters a little.

Good luck with your Elephant battery. How do you get a battery in an Elephant anyway?:D (with a big ladder and long glove i assume:eek: )

Answer......You can't, you get down from a Goose!

That is almost on par with Simon's jokes :D

I feel it is part of our responsibility as good British subjects, to educate the rest of our international members in the subtle and intricate ways of British humour.

And yes. It was just as bad as mine. Well done!
