Retired K&C Resources (1 Viewer)

I don't believe there is such a resource. Your best source when checking prices paid is ebay, but eBay will only show prices paid in the last few months and sometimes a particular item may not have been sold during that time span. Years ago I maintained a list of prices paid but it's hopelessly outdated; it hasn't been updated in 10 years.

Hi guys,

Do any of you have any good sources for retired K&C pieces in the US?

Morning Rob,

As Brad mentioned, the prices for K&C pieces (as well as many makers) is all over the board.

EBay is a start but I've seen prices go from the sublime to the ridiculous om that site. More go (IMO) way over priced.
But if you want a piece bad enough the price is justified ... somewhat.

If you are asking about availability of retired K&C pieces, to fill in the holes of your collection, then you best bet is to register your wants with a dealer who routinely buys collections. You are (most likely) aware of the top 5 or 6 dealers who buy collections and then resell to collectors.

Julie (Treefrog) has the Consignment shop and the Forum (Buy/Sell).
Also, George (Minutemen) and Matt (Hobby Bunker) buy and sell a ton of collections, both at the shows and online.
I think that Nick (Crown) also participates in this area, but I am not to sure what is his current status is after the Great Migration to Texas!

Chicago is ALWAYS a source for older pieces, especially the last few years, as collections are coming onto the marker at a higher pace than the past.

I always come home with 3-4 items I have been looking for.

GOOD HUNTING!

Thanks to a tip from my friend and fellow collector, Steven Chong, about two weeks ago, I believe that you will find that www.sagerssoldiers.com is the most comprehensive site for this information. Even better than the King & Country website. When you log on, click on "King & Country" in the list of manufacturers on the left side. Don't bother with the "King & Country Retired" choice just below, it has fewer sets listed. You will find an extensive listing of King & Country retired sets, including their list price, a few comments, the roll out date, and the retirement date.

Thank you Mike. I access Sagers regularly to look at older pieces and prices. Great resource. :salute::
