Deepest respect to Leslie Nielsen who has passed away today. Great comedy actor whose films including Airplane and the Naked gun series were superb and some of my favourite comedy films ever. Police Squad and Columbo were some of the tv programmes that benefited from his presence, he will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

"And don't call me Shirley!" He was a good one. I remember a TV episode (maybe Twilight Zone or Night Gallery?) where he played a big game hunter forced to stay in a haunted house overnight. It was a scary episode with a twist ending. He will certainly be missed. -- Al

"Nice beaver", great comedy actor! Naked Gun, Police Squad the best!

I remember the first time I ever saw Airplane on video ( Video, yes a long time ago!) it was late at night and I was laughing so much my mum and dad came down to see what on earth was making me laugh so much:D

I really wish LN had made more films in the same vein after Airplane and Naked gun, I know he made a couple more but they were never quite as good, was there one called 'Dead and Loving it' if I remember??

He also made several appearances in "Due South", another good series.

He was Francis Marion in the Disney series The Swamp Fox.
