Another member of our toy soldier collecting fraternity has passed away. I received an e-mail message this weekend announcing a memorial service for attorney Michael Taylor of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I really didn't know Michael Taylor, per se, other than we had corresponded for several years about World War I in Africa toy soldiers which he collected. In August, he informed me that he was in the hospital fighting cancer. I sent him two sets of Hiriart World War I Portuguese Colonial Infantry and Belgian Congo Force Publique toy soldiers that he had been waiting for with the comment that I hoped he would win this fight against cancer and that maybe these toy soldiers would bring a smile to his face. I hope they did. Rest In Peace Michael Taylor.
