As big an Errol Flynn fan as I am, I somehow have managed to miss his 1950 film Rocky Mountain, until today. It is a Civil War western with Flynn as a Confederate officer sent west under special orders to try and organize a Confederate uprising in California. Along with Flynn are Quinn "Big Boy' Williams, Slim Pickens, Sheb Wooley, Scott Forbes, and Patrice Wymore as the female love interest. It is a different sort of Flynn western as he does not get the girl or accomplish his mission. It was an enjoyable enough film but I thought Flynn came across as disinterested and lacking energy in his part. Flynn wasn't bad, just not quite engaged. I still liked the film for it's rather unusual ending, They Died with Their Boots On, notwithstanding. -- Al

I never saw this one either and I'm a big Flynn fan too.His later movies I get the feeling he wasn't too interested in them also.
