Ken...they all look good to me...nice display...how is the fort coming along...is the basement too cold yet?

Mike,

Twenty-five of the twenty-seven gun ports are roughed-in. After the last one is done, I need to do some minor detailing around the bases (soles) of each of the gun ports. Then some additional detailing on the gun platform before staining the new construction. In mid-November, I will be adding more stakes to the walls. Once the stakes are in, I will probably shut down construction for the year. I need to figure out the gate element, toying with a drawbridge, or I might ponder still on the designs for the buildings - I am thinking three long barrack buildings around the parade area.

Putting it progress in another light --- after two years, I finally got the walls done :tongue:

Ken...would love to see some pictures if you get time...have you started on your chimneys yet?

intriguing set-up Ken, I really like the mix of figures you used.
I can't wait to see the pictures of the fort progress work, how many figures will make your garrison?
Cheers
Carlo

As to the fort garrison, the garrison will be stationed in the curio cabinets on the second floor. On rare occassions, elements will move down into the basement for display or a photo session (humidity and temperature considerations). Right now, I can't even decide on who "owns" the fort. The French clearly have the best and most artillery figures (human), so big points to the french, but the British have the best artillery pieces (24-pounders and howitzers from Chippawa) , and I so love the BoM marching sets, and the British wagons......

Actually, I was thinking of mixing in the French JJD artillery figures into a British "fort". To be honest, I can barely tell which army the artillery figures are on anyway, so the neighbors will be clueless!!!!

I have always thought the BoC sets (Chippawa) might actually look best. Many of the poses on those figures would be ideal in a fort setting. They are John's best artillery figures.

(If you are reading John, I don't think you are that old really!) ;)

Had to add at least 1 or 2 shots of the Blacksmith!!! Red blanket on the back of the horse is a huge increase in the SNAZZY factor ;););)
