Just saw on Planet Figure forum New Releases secton a whaleboat kit by La Meridiana. For those unfamilar with La Meridiana they make beautifully sculpted figure kits. They are also larger then most fitting with 1/30-1/32 figures. They probably have more FIW related kits then any other figure kit maker.

I saw the boat at La Meridania's website for 82 euros which converts to $115.80.More than I thought it would be.These historical kits are very nice but are getting too expensive and if you don't paint yourself it is almost too much money to be worth it.With the quality and realism of the TS companies getting better and better there will less need of these kits.

Good point, Mark!

I saw the announcement over at the HZ-Forum the other day, and I immediately thought of John Jenkins' boat. If someone is really desparate to have a whaleboat, I could see perhaps spending that much, but you're right, it really is pretty expensive. We'd be better off scratchbuilding one (not too difficult).

Prost!

I should have said not worth it to the average collectors.Collectors with lots of money don't care about the price and if you go to Timelines or Planet Figure forums you can see there are a lot of talented artists there who really enjoy figure painting. But even for these guys a lot of kits are out of their price range.
