The backbone of the Roman Empire was certainly her Legions and this is our third different Roman Legion that we are providing for our incredibly popular “Glory of Rome” figure range. Last month we released Legio I Adiutrix, which is now almost completely sold out, and this month we bring you Legio II Augusta. The new legion features white tunics and scarves with the “eagle” on a black shield. Legio II Augusta had an extremely long history, originally founded in the late Republic and continuously operating up through the 4th century. Of particular note, they served in Britannia and participated in the construction and defense of Hadrian’s Wall. This release yet again adds interest and variety to Romans in combat as three different legions can be displayed providing wonderful visual interest to large displays. The release of this new legion also provides an opportunity for collectors who didn't collect our Glory of Rome from the beginning to pick up these figures which are central to the range. But word to wise - act quickly because the production run is extremely small and we don't expect these to last very long!!!

Maybe, a remake of the Roman General is in order, except a black plumed helmet General a-la Russell Crowe in the Gladiator. After all two more legions has entered the fight.

I like collecting Roman Legions. I do have 17 of the Legio I Minerva and 15 of the Legio I Adiutrix. I love the sets definitely a seller.

Being the 3rd release of the same sculpts it would be great to have
A few unique poses to add some variation.

I see your point , But First Legions approach for starters is unique, they do not just wet your appetite, they give you the meal. Most of the time they bring out a bunch of figures with their releases, for this range its 16. Other manufacturers will give you a couple each year, one particular one will give you a couple to a few every other year or so, and to get as much as what First Legions first offerings it might take close to a decade to get. So for that part First Legion has my loyalty, I seldom buy outside of their company. And If FL brings out figures in a different pose, I welcome it. Because they just gave us Desert, and possibly the cherry on top.....

I agree the depth of FL,s ranges is what I enjoy about them and they have done a great job of this [with the exception of perhaps the AK line where the 8th army has been left hanging in the wind for years] ,
I think just a few unique figures with a re release would be a nice point of difference and provide a nice variation on display .

Yep, the Afrika Korp. Really needs some one to fight with, The Desert Rats are long over due. Hopefully soon.

Agree.....I enthusiastically had started to collect some FL DAK AFV's but have slowed it "WAY DOWN" since last year..... until we see at least some WWII British 8th which are LONG OVER-DUE??...Hopefully soon.......What I like most about FL is that when they release a series it is extensive/comprehensive and we usually see at least 8-12 figures with varied poses.....This has been the case most times and that is why I stick with FL because "you can build onto a collection" with a definite plan in sight....(and not be all over the place with "bits and bobs" from here and there lacking cohesion).....I'm also quite glad that FL has decided to make these Roman figures available again with some variation as it allows us to add to our existing ranks and provides for those who missed out on the first set to enjoy these wonderful Roman Legion figures.....WELL DONE FL.

Yep, with the DAK having a pretty extensive selection of over 30 pieces. And not having anyone to fight with is really supprising. Matt has introduced pieces, and within a year he brings out its counterparts, which is a great part of sticking and being loyal to FL. We all know that it will happen. Hopefully real soon.
And I also agree with you in having two new legions is really great . And hopefully we will have a new General, after all it is two more legions, and of course for the ones that did miss the first offering, for them to have one. Or at least another tribune to lead....
