There's been some discussion of these finds, over at the HZ-Forum. The real significance is that the date for this battlefield is about 250 to 300 years later than generally accepted date for the high water mark of Roman encroachment into Germany. There's more support now for the view that despite the Varusschlacht, the Romans were still active in Central Germany, beyond the limes, than was previously thought.

Wow! That's some discovery.:cool: I wish there were more photographs of the relics they uncovered.
 
That's really something.It's a shame so many ancient texts were lost to history.We probably know very little about the time of the Romans.A lot less than we realize.
