I have an increasing collection of the 9th Legion and will hopefully be able to build my own Century, mainly 2 of each set, plus a decent number of the 30th Legion. This in my opinion is the best series round at the minute, with the First Legion Retreat from Moscow coming second, but these seemed to have dried up and are a little expensive for my bank account, being a rare purchase, but I have them all, except the sledges.

Will we be seeing one of the hardest working Mules in history! The 'TG Mule', as he has served the French Foreign Legion, set FFL33b, the French in WW1, set GW053 and with the Aussies, set RSO13. Would be good to see a set of marching Legionaires, maybe making up an 8 piece tent party with their mule carrying their tent etc.

Good to see the new Centurion and is a definite for me, but also need a tesserarius, a signifer, a cornicen, and an optio. Not forgetting someone to fight.........

Not sure where this series will go, but it has so far gone from strength to strength, as for Roman artillery pieces, I would not say no but I think TG are being a figure and plane company. we will see few tanks etc, this is not a complaint as TG are in the UK keeping the interest alive for many collectors.

Wish List
More winter Germans - paras and infantry.
British Infantry for Normandy, could do 2 or 3 versions of the same figure, 1 Canadian and 2 British regiments.
Celts and Picts to fight the Romans,
Colonial civilian fighting figures for the French Indian Wars

Nice to hear another TG roman collector happy with the figures but i would like to see some opposition. My legion is getting bored with nothing to do. Even if we could see some proposed barbarian figures and collectors would not have to consider going to other brands to compliment the romans. Regards Greg.

I bought a few soldiers from the Lost Legion. They look great with those black shields, especially the ones marching with the pilum straight forward (ROM001). I'm thinking about building a new diorama with these soldiers but I'm not sure where to situate them. Maybe Africa or Britannia. Enemies would be welcome......

I'm also looking for some accesories for my diorama. Nice houses, bridges, tents, etc. from the ancient world seems much harder to be find than for example WW2 accesories.

I did some homework.....
The soldiers are wearing a balteus (shoulder belt) for their gladius. The balteus apperared in the middle of the first century AD. Before that time they used two belts (cingulum), one for the gladius and one for the dagger. The helmet looks like the Gallic type (with the 'eyebrows' on top). That one also appears later in the first century AD.
Meaning, I can't send my legion to the desert, cause they left Africa around 14 AD. Sorry guys, you will go to the swamps in Britannia.....
