To heck with Erwin, that's a nice early M3 halftrack APC that the Jerries have "acquired". Note the unditching roller on the front bumper, the early headlights out on the fenders and the lack of water/fuel can holders on front sides.

This photo is part of an interesting group that shows a mix of captured US equipment mixed into a German column in Tunisia in 1943.
