Hello all.

Got a fine set of Toy Soldiers this week and want to share it here with you.
It is set no. 00105 Royal Guard Of Honour, The Queen's Company Grenadier Guards-1899, a "Hamleys" edition by Britains.

At last I now have a set of what I call the "most iconic" or maybe "ultimate" Toy Soldier, a British Guard with the red uniform Coat, the Bearskin, and on parade.

This lovely set comes in a nice presentation box with high quality foam lining for protection.

To start with, here are two photos, showing the box and the foam lining.

Featured in the set are an Ensign, a Saluting Officer, 2 Colour Sergeants, a Drummer Boy, 7 Privates and the mounted Duke of Cambridge.
Here are two photos of the complete group.

Closer views of the Officer and the Drummer Boy and some of the Privates.
One little drawback in this set is, that the drum is a plastic piece. Would have been nice, if it was done in metal too and hand painted.

Hi Konrad,

Congratulations! That is a most impressive group of figures you have acquired! I like them very much and I am extremely pleased the set has joined your collection. It is a set of which to be very proud.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Absolutely astounding.
A set to treasure for the ages!
You are one lucky guy Konrad.

Another fine set Konrad.

If you really do dislike the plastic drum though, Why not ask John Firth if he might obtain you another from (say) Asset in the UK - paint it up for you - and send it on. In my experience, they normally just "plug in" to the hole that the plastic one currently occupies? A touch of super-glue should hold it in place just fine.

Of course, you may not want to modify the existing set - which is very nice as it stands - but it would look rather nicer than the existing drum. just a thought - johnnybach.

That would be a good option, JB, but I think I leave the figure as it is.

Very handsome set that you have there, Konrad. Very colorful and as you say, iconic. Nice get. -- Al

Very nice set Konrad, one of my favorite that Britain's did with Hamley's. Do you own any of the other sets? The 2 Gordon Highlander bands they did in similar packaging are pretty nice also.

Hi Craig.
When I won this set on ebay, the seller also had the 2 Gordon Highlander Sets up for bids and they were won for very decent prices.
Unfortunately I could only go for this one set, since the budget didn't allow more.
But whenever I get a chance in the future, I will try to get the Highlander Sets as well. There will be an opportunity at some point :smile2: :wink2:

This might help Konrad............ to tickle the taste buds.:D jb
