Hello ,
The purple paint on the uniforms of the Royal Roussillon are not fair.They must be blue like the one on the english flag.
The colors used in the french regiments of Louis the XVth are black (rare , for old regiments) ,but most blue or red;
It is not until the regulation of 1776 that we find purple in the french infantry
(regiment d'Orléans ,later Gatinais in the independance war for exemple)
So I repainted my figures with the due blue to sleep better.
The question may be :" do you prefer keep a figure as sold or do you also repaint to be more historical"?
Best regards
Thierry

I am not afraid to repaint my figures, if they were not done right by the mfg. Michael

They are yours. It may ruin resale value but we are talking frontline. I have repainted them when I wanted more of the Old Guard.:):D

I repaint, too, if I don't like the way figures are painted. Although I like a gloss finish, for example, I don't like my toy soldiers to wear rouge, so if they come with red dots painted on their cheeks, I paint those out. I have some figures from the Irish Toy Soldier Museum whose faces I fixed, too. Like KV said, they're our figures, in the end.

Prost!
Brad
