There had been some talk about new Eastern Front sets coming out a while back, or to clarify some Russian Eastern front sets, as I know many German sets can fit in just fine in the East.

I was away for a little while a couple months back, so perhaps I missed some info, but I checked some prior postings from Andy and didn't see anything.

Can anyone fill me in? Are they postponed because of all the new sets and ranges KC is putting out or cancelled, etc.?

Thanks for the info
Bill

Andy posted something a while back saying that the russian sets didn't sell too well.

:) Andy should make WINTER RUSSIANS, to compete withe GERMANS! And make a KV-1 HEAVY TANK AND SU85-SELF PROPELLED VEHICLE. and Russian Artillery Gun, used to destroy Berlin in the Last Fighting Days of the Berlin Battle to Win!

Bring them on! I have made my pitch for more Eastern Front before. There are also many nationalities beyond russian or german that could be produced. Spanish, Italian, Finnish, Hungarian, Romanian troops. Maybe there is not enough interest to make large numbers but a few of each would be very tempting because they are something different.

I don't remember hearing about that earlier this year. When did that come up? Sounds interesting.

So let us look at the alternative view of that statement. Perhaps that series does not sell well because it is limited in size and that if more sets were offered, it would become more popular and thence profitable:confused:

Agree with you Michael.

I also love the russian soldiers figures; really great, especially the one with the Red Flag. And what about Lovely Liouba controlling the traffic... she looks a little like a military man;)

Maybe Andy's left the door open for a return to the Russian Front, he's labeled the new German releases due out next month as "Winter Germans" in the WS series and not Battle of the Bugle, so we collectors could but two or more of each set and use them in either setting. How nice of Andy, always keeping the collector's best interest to heart.:D

The Russian front was the biggest, the harshest, the most decisive, the one with more men involved, everything finished in «est». From Barbarossa onwards there remains a lot to be explored in my view, and I think the Berlin Russians are possibly the best figures K&C ever made. So I would clearly give this front the attention it deserves and shop till I'd drop... For me it would also be a lot more original than more and more Waffen SS or even D Day sets, the war was a lot more than that. Well, I like collecting and History, and History and collecting...
