I took a little trip to Gettysburg today - to get out of the house and pick up a little something for Mrs. Phillips' Easter Basket. Of course it was at one of my favorite Toy Soldier Shops - Gettysburg Antique Center.

On one of my past trips there my wonderful wife saw a little German - Goebel - Bunny figure on skis - she has talked about it a couple of times. So I bought her bunny and got me some treats too ! ;)

I picked up some John Jenkins and King & Country figs - but was let down a little - the new stuff wasn't in for the Napoleonics. :( - But, still a great stop and I GOT THE BUNNY !

So on my way out of town I thought lets drop by and see John at Gettysburg Miniature Soldiers. And there before my eyes... THE RUSSIAN ARE HERE !

THE RUSSIAN ARTILLERY SET - NA 149

Oh my - Oh my - this is a must own piece for all you Napoleonic Collectors ! It is beautiful and the detail work is outstanding. Lots of action with this set the Gunners are in great poses and you can feel the battle looking at them. Just fantastic ! :D

I also picked up the OFFICER w/ FLAG - NA140

Another great figure !! The action on this guy is incredible too. The colors are bright and vivid - another must have as well. These pieces look great together.

If you have been wondering if you should buy these guys - believe me, when you see them first hand and hold them - you will want them.

I almost turned around and drove back for more - but, needed a few things for the Easter Basket so had to move on.

Sounds like a great trip. Haven't seen the Russians first hand but they sound great. Is the green as vivid as the pictures indicate? If so they must really look fantastic, gotta love those colorfull Naps:cool:.

Saber the uniforms are dark green - but, very colorful. Really impressive - I believe you will love them too.

Nope ! THESE ARE BETTER !! :D

Ah Ron , if you were truely a capitalist red army unbeliever commited to the napolenic cause , you wouldn't have bought that very very nice RA004 today ( -blocked from bidding in the last few minutes cos not reistered in US agggghhhh even though had a us mailing address-- oh the pain and anguish at watching that one go for a song). Nice buy;):cool::D:D

Hehehehehe :D

The Russian Army Grows.....

Yes, I was a little shocked to find out that I had won with that bid.

Sometimes I just put in a bid - so i can see what it goes for - all the while knowing that my bid will be passed by (or sniped by guys like you ;) )

To be honest - I am not sure where I am going to put that Tank ?

Well, I guess I'll find out when my trial figure arrives next week:). I guess I should start making more room as I'm sure he will be wanting some company;).

Watch Out - Saber !!

They are like potato chips - cant just have one ! ;)

I love all the new Russians, except for one. That one is NA 138, marching. I had hopes of putting together a long line of advance Russians. However, I do not like the way the figure is holding his musket. The musket lock should be in the corner of his elbow facing toward the front. The musket itself should be pointing straight up. I have enclosed two photos to help illustrate my point.

Well my first Russian arrived today, marching officer, and he looks great:cool:. Time to get some soda pop to go with the upcoming potato chips:). I really hope this leads to more allied forces on both sides being produced.
