I don't mean to start another scale debate, but I recently added some Stalingrad Russians to my WWII collection. I know there has been much talk between how the Stalingrad and Normandy ranges have some slight scale differences when placed side-by-side, but when I placed my Russians beside the Stalingrad Germans there was a striking difference! The Russians look so tiny and thin. For reference the Russians I added are the first ones that were released (RUSSTALOO2, RUSSTALOO3, RUSSTALOO4, RUSSTALOO5). Is this the case for all the Russian releases or was it just an issue with the first ones?

Sometimes these things happens, I also felt the same impression when realized prime mover driver was half the size of sitting figures.

Cameron. I noticed the same thing when I compare my Stalingrad Germans to the Normandy Range. The Normandy Range seems bigger.

Yeah that's a given, but when I compared the Russians with the Stalingrad Germans I was surprised to see a big difference.

This actually goes way back to the beginning of the range launch and was discussed pretty heavily at that time. Sets RUSSTAL001-RUSTAL005 and GERSTAL001-GERSTAL009 are slightly smaller than the rest of the figures in the range. All of the rest of the figures are a bit bigger/heftier but not so much that they can't be displayed together. This was obviously many years ago when this was discussed, but figures in the Stalingrad range after these very first sets are a bit bigger.

Best,

Matt

Matt,
Thank you so much for your reply. I thought it may have been covered years ago, but was not sure. I am very new to the Stalingrad range as I mainly focused on the Normandy and American Civil War ranges. It does not concern me too much as they look very nice and I'm looking forward to adding more to my Stalingrad range. It's just good to know that they are on a consistent sizing now. Keep those works of art coming! :)

I have a pretty large grouping at home of the sets mentioned plus many of the other sets released later and they look perfectly compatible to me. Slight variations, but all within the normal human range which actually seems more realistic.

It is not like having different manufacturers and truly different scales together where they seem like a different species.

My View:WWII First Legion is "all mostly" within the "acceptable range" of scale compatibility.....Unfortunately a few bumps in the road with size issues have occurred especially with the FL Fallschrimjagers but at least FL size variances are not glaring errors and FL at least STRIVES TO MAINTAIN CONSISTENT SCALE.....THAT SAID :It is always good to re-visit this issue to be reminded of the importance of ACCURATE SIZE & COMPATIBLE SCALE.... especially within a range or historical time period......IMHO Sometimes FL some figures tend to look a bit too thin. Something to monitor.

Very nice answer, great to see a manufacture take time to give polite and respectful answers to collectors.
