ah yes, I have been waiting to see when our Russians would have some fire power of thier own, and this looks like a awesome piece, esp. with the crew of 4, this series is getting better by the day!!!! great job Matt and company...Sammy

I just want to say, while I am not a WWII fan , this set is just spectacular!!! That is really amazing and could very well move me into a Stalingrad range.
I would really like to get this set.
Very well done!!!

Very nice :) I really like the poses of the crew and the way they fit together with the gun . Another fine release congratulations ;) Gebhard

First Legion.... Just continues to impress....Way to go Matt....Very Nice set

I find myself coming back to this piece for more looks  . I must admit I don't know much about WWII Soviet patches  does anyone know if that is a specific unit marking on the left sleeve of the gun crew or a generic crossed cannons representing branch of service ? Thanks in advance Gebhard

It's a bit difficult to make out the badge in the FL photo because it is small. But here is a photo of a WW2 Russian Anti-Tank Artillery Sleeve Insignia. It looks to me that it is the same badge for the branch of service. The 45mm anti-tank gun was used in anti-tank platoons of rifle battalions (2 guns) and by anti-tank battalions of rifle divisions (12 guns) and also in separate anti-tank regiments (4-5 batteries of 4 guns each). It was effective against only light tanks and against Panzer III and Panzer IV at close range.

Yup that's it , pretty impressive detail... whomever does their research really does a good job not to mention the painters . Thanks for the photo do you have one of these in your collection ? Gebhard ......there's a real one on ebay for 450.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270431298348

No I don't have one. This is the first model that I know of this gun. Figarti is doing it's replacement - the 76mm anti-tank gun, but the 45mm is the one the Russians had to use in the first part of the war along with lots of anti-tank rifles.

Wow. $450 seems expensive for a shoulder badge. And there are lots of replicas on the market.

Collecting Original Militaria , especially items from WWII is very tricky these days . I see things on dealers tables that were repros twenty years ago and now are openly sold as Original  . The quality of the repros coming out now days is incredible , Its a hard lesson to learn . I'm sure glad I'm not trying to get started in the Hobby today as most are fakes and the real stuff is way to pricey . I'm more and more just dealing with vets and their families ,its a lot safer plus you get the story and IMO that's even more important . Well have to say something about RUSSTAL012 , the more I think about it I'll have to own one . Gebhard

I just got back from a business trip so these two new releases in the Stalingrad range are a nice thing to find when coming back to the forum.

First off the animation of the AT crew in particular is superb. I think the crew served weapons, including the AT rifles, really allows FL to demonstrate their proficiency in capturing realistic action.

It looks like FL has chosen to model the 1942 version of this weapon which has a longer barrel than the 1937 version. Notice the similarity to the German 37mm AT gun. Apparently the original version was based on documents purchased from Rheinmetall.

I will be purchasing both this gun and the Pz.III.

You have to love the painting on these soldiers. First Legion is First class in painting and design. No joke or taking the p**s but you have to be impressed.Simmo.
