An excellent display of Samurai armor is now showing at the Phoenix Art Museum. I spent several hours there last week. A great collection from helmets to full suits of armor. Exhibit runs through July 16. http://www.phxart.org/Samurai

i agree - the book from this exhibit would be an amazing resource for anyone sculpting or painting samurai!
