This might make a nice little line for John along the same scope as Snowshoes. Rough Riders, Teddy, Buffalo Soldiers, Cuban insurgents, Gen. Wheeler (of Civil War fame), and many interesting Spanish troops.

Not to mention:

Leonard Wood
John J. Pershing
US Artillery and Gatlings guns

The first toy soldiers I ever really saw and liked was KC 's Rough Riders range.I saw them in an ad in a magizine. Before that I had seen the old style soldiers and didn't care for them, but the RR"s I really liked but couldn't afford them at the time.Would like the army and marines fighting the Moros too.

I think interest in such a line would be largely confined to US collectors but that's still a pretty big market in the toy soldier scheme of things.
