Thanks Tom.

The SAS Jeep and standing figure in my dio are from K&C a few years back. As far as the LRDG chevy goes, K&C did make a couple of those trucks about the same time they made this Jeep. I don't have one of those by K&C, but I do have one from Figarti that is a nice set.

Thank you.....K&C...should have picked the painted pockets as K&C......thanks for the CHEV info....maybe they still have a few left...have pic of the real vehicle and the Figari model looks spot on.....the SAS figures are really well done...hang onto them...cheers TomB

Nice pictures.

I have a couple of the desert buildings with some more on the want list. They are good pieces and quite good for use across a few ranges.

Another goody Duke and i have been toying with getting the LRDG Jeep but just never got around to getting it.

I love the lanscape : attached village buildings , sand and the well create a realistic , exotic atmosphere and not overloaded {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

Awesome Duke - I love your N. Africa dioramas. That SAS jeep is a fantastic piece. I also enjoy reading about these deep desert op teams.
Great scene brought to life in sand. Do you find working with sand messy?

Tom,

Time to get these. I bought 4 LRDGs (2 of each). When I decided to put the extra pieces for sale, they were very quickly snapped up. The LRDGs work well with the SAS jeep. I especially like it that the two versions of LRDG had different figures and equipment. So, like they say, it is not just a paint job. I wish K&C will be like this when they start duplicating tanks with different paint schemes. They are especially good for a desert raid into an AK airfield.

Rgds,Chris

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

WO, using real sand for temporary set ups like this one works very well I think, but you do have to be careful not to spill any! I have it spread out on a large sheet of poster board on top of a table, so hopefully I can get it back into the container I'm keeping it in without any getting on the floor, otherwise the wife might have something to say about any future use of the real sand.{eek3}

The sand does get everywhere but you cannot beat the real effect it gives....even if you have a board with a recess to hold the sand in place the darn stuff still manages to spill.... my ball and chain tends to get upset with a bit of sand around...gee....I dint know why !....cheers TomB

Good tip here. I had thought about getting a small "sand bag".

Cheers Chris and i may have missed the boat on the LRDG Chevy's as the asking price will probably be to high for me. I have seen a few jeeps at a reasonable price so maybe i'll grab one of them. The problem is that there is still to much other stuff that i want as well!
