Hello! Just seen an Old WW2 Desert War Film; showing the SAS British with Turbin Hats and also, Winter/Night Desert Commandos with U.S.Commando Hats! Also, convoy with BEDFORD QL Trucks! SAS Jeep was Attacking DAK Positions w/Mounted MG! Also, a SDKFZ-232SPAHWAGEN W/Antennae and Front Grille Guard, studying Plans for German Armor Movement, in Desert; against the Allies!
Hello Harrytheid! Correction, on my Description of the 3-SAS Men, they were Wearing the Regular Desert Garb Headress, and the Desert Commandos was wearing the British Style OD Wollen Hats, for Night/Cold Weather with their Overcoats! CIAO!

Thanks for the response John.
Sounds like the desert commandos were wearing what we call "Cap Comforters" in the UK. They're the sort of headgear that we normally associate with commando forces in WW2 - much more so than the green beret that current K&C R. Marines sport.
There's a really good made-for-UK TV movie starring Daniel Craig which has him in East Africa and Italy during WW2......but even better, it has some pretty good scenes of the Crete campaign, which I'm aware you have a great interest in. The name of the movie escapes me right now, but I'll get access to the DVD in a couple of weeks from now and pass the title on to you.
Thanks, Chuck and Harrytheid for the DVD Site that you have given me! I also like the Girl Lena Headley, on the Right of the Site!
