Well the week seemed to zip by and its back to the Wairarapa valley for another weekend of toy soldier fun. Its has to be said its a gloomy weekend so far weather wise. Heavy led grey skies spit rain at you as a southerly blows in to remind you autumn is here.
It was an interesting week at work and I seemed to spend most of it at the NZ parliament advising parliamentary select committees before they were let loose on government departments who had to explain their performance and financial management. Its an annual event where all government departments come under review/scrutiny by parliament.
As for toy soldiers my Empire Miniatures figures I ordered are in the process of winging their way from the UK to NZ. Sierra Toy Soldiers are also shipping a selection of K&C figures including WW1 Turks and Lawrence of Arabia figures, WW2 Commandos and some Alamo defenders together with the Streets of Hong Kong tram. Commissioned ECW and Henry VIII army should be ready from ATS soon while Regal as busy down the road painting up Mexican war (!846), maharajah and battle of Hastings figures. I reserved the Thomas Gunn Rufe plane and will ask them to ship the Roland I reserved in January once the March figures are released. I am still in two minds re my WB club membership as I have just go a reminder email. Standard and spring catalogue will be flying over to NZ soon. I like the idea of the K&C four musketeers range they might do and I will invest (I suppose I have to as a Kiwi) in their Gallipoli range together with JJDs. There was a great five part doc soap that has just finished over here - great viewing on a Wednesday night.
Anyway I will post up a few shots and then its a long soak in the bath, listening to opera sipping a local red wine before an Italian meal. It beats looking out at the rain!
