Hi - I have always liked the Britains Deetail range and often find broken figures at Toy fairs etc... often priced very cheaply - this one cost GBP 0.25. (like a Quarter Dollar)
This cowboy was found with a pistol missing so I decided to convert him into a dismounted Confederate cavalry officer and added the spare battleflag where the pistol was missing.
Simple hole was drilled through the hand and flag added. Painted figure grey and added yellow cavalry trims and gold Austrian knots to the cuffs. I saw pictures of a Reb officer with his uniform cut in a civilian style with the waistcoat so this passes as ok.
I kept the metal base as it was so it matches other ACW figures from the same age (1970's) as they always lose some of the green base paint.
End result is a nice figure with a bit of panache and zeal and saved from the rubbish/trash bin.

Maybe I should do more conversions - very easy and enjoyable with a good result
