Hello

only a few new pieces at the show, some German Paras with a sPzB 41, 2 figures with the gun. The Winter version had skis.

What was interesting was some kriegsmarine which look like they are armed for a battle on land? the only thing I can think of is for the Dieppe raid in 1942?

The Kriegsmarine was very active on land :
-In 1939 The Marine Stosstrupp Kompanie helped conquering a Polish bastion
-In 1940 they landed with the German Army in Narvik
-Naval bases were protected by Kriegsmarine Flak. Kriegsmarine guarded these bases
-Kriegsmarine manned the radar bases
-Coastal batteries in Germany were manned by the Kriegsmarine
-from sept 1944 the Kriegsmarine started forming regiments (40) and divisions(6) for battle on land
-They actively participated in the Battle for Berlin
just to mention a few things

Also the St. Nazaire commando raid 28 Mar 1942. The initial resistance to the raid was from Kriegsmarine arty, FLAK, shore personnel and ship's companies before army reinforcements arrived. Wish I'd paid closer attention when I walked past the TG display at London yesterday!
