There is a table below. Been wondering what 54MM scale really means and how that value is determined. I played on Excel and kinda stumbled through this. It appears the MM scale values are based on a 6-foot tall character or measurement. Take the height of your "6-foot" character in inches and mulitply it by 25.4 (millimeters per inch) and you get the mm scale value. No idea why this standard, but it does seem to work mathematically. However, there is a chance I am all wrong here and the formula's are just a coincidence.
K&C is advertizing as a true 1/30. I think Jenkins is 1/30 as well, with JG miniatures being 1/32. I think "armor" is often 1/35, so you can see how some scaling issues can arise between the armor and the figures In addtional, I was surfing through the web and found 1 or 2 links that suggested many manufacturers 54mm's are actually 1/29 and suggested the 1/29 was a standard for 54 mms, at least in the past. Actually, I went through this excerise to see how close in scale JG miniatures would be with the Jenkins.
Having problems with the table paste, alignments all off (sigh). So eliminating much of the table:
First number (scale)
2nd number (6-foot character in inches)
3rd number (6-foot character in millimeters = 2nd number x 25.4, KEY POINT)
4th number (advertized millimeter scale)
1/29 2.482759 63.06207 54/60
1/30 2.400000 60.96000 60
1/32 2.250000 57.15000 60
1/35 2.057143 52.25143 54
1/64 1.125000 28.57500 28/30
So jenkins and K&C might actually be 61 MM!!!! But wil check this against a 2-meter standard when I get the time.
