Each face is a totally unique sculpt and there is no re-use across figures. In fact, the facial sculpting is extremely detailed and well scaled and all figures look like different people. Some faces are longer and thinner, others are shorter and wider, etc. like real people. What's more, the Germans have more European styled faces while the Russians tend to have slavic faces.

I'm sure that some folks who have the figures can add to this.

Best,

Matt

daruss,
Matt is absolutely correct. I have 11 Germans and 4 Russians from First Legion and the faces are all different. A good example is to look at the pioneer tossing the satchel charge, the pioneer firing the MP40 from the hip and the kneeling firing German. A good range of very different looking faces. The German standing, pointing looks like a German soldier from a famous Stalingrad newsreel.
These are the best WWII soldiers I have ever purchased.

Confirm as well the Breaker's comments. You can't do a mistake buying these.

I can't comment on the WW2 figures, but at least with the Napoleonic figures I have, the face scupts are superb! First Legion has the highest detail I have seen in this scale. Each face scuplt is distinct and is certainly not a 'clone' of all the rest. The eye detail is especially impressive.

The faces were one of the things that immediately jumped out at me on these figures. Not only is the sculpting excellent and proportions spot on but. as Matt alluded to, they look appropriate for their ethnicity. Many also wear a grim expression as one would expect in Stalingrad.

I must also agree that the faces are one of many aspects of these figures that has attracted me to this line of figures. They have a VERY realistic look and seem almost to take on a life of their own. The eyes also highlight the figure as if to tell a story. I believe that these figures surpass anything on the WW2 market today and look forward to building the battle of Stalingrad with these wonderful figures.
After looking at these figures, my next response would be, can you say the Battle of Arnhem.:)
