I just learned recently some more details of how eBay operates relative to sales that are reported to their Customer Support section ( Resolution Center) by a buyer for a "problem" with the seller. I verified this via call to ebay at 1-866-540-3229. A seller can have a "No returns" policy", but this only appiles to "buyer remorse" cases. A seller can also state in his listings that there is no refund of any postage for items that were sent to buyer as well as seller not paying for any postage for a return of an item. However, once a buyer would file a complaint to eBay's Customer Service under their eBay Buyers Protection Plan then "eBay rules" take over!

At least for some years now eBay has the rule they use in making their decisions where buyer claims damage or "Item not as described" that the buyer pays for shipping item back to seller and the seller pays or refunds the shipping fees that were charged and paid for by the buyer at time of purchase by the buyer related to the returned item from the buyer. Sellers Beware!!!!!!!!!!

I sell metal castings. I clearly state as many as FIVE times in the item listing and description as such. UNPAINTED METAL KITS.Image of assembled and painted figures but are supplied as Unpainted KITS
I get an ebay message from last buyer ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED.WHAT!?
He did not bother to read the FIRST sentence or any of the item description but was upset he got item exactly as described and since he did not bother to read the description , I owe him a complete refund.
Wow. What can you do with someone that does not read description, then says items not as described!?
I refunded the purchase price once items were returned, but no shipping.

Be careful!

Harold...

I had one similar...

I photographed a Heritage figure...for an Ebay auction...

I put a K&C...and a WB on one side of it...
and a Conte and a JJD on the other side of it...
I wrote 3 times in the short description...that the auction was only for the single figure in the middle...that the others were included only to show scale size...

it sold for around $28...

a week later the guy emails and says he only received one of the 5 figures...hahaha...he never even read the first line of my description...so he wanted a refund...

I called Ebay and asked what I should do...the phone representative reviewed my ad...and while he happened to be answering phones that day...he said that he also worked on their "case arbitration board"...and if he were reviewing mine...he would rule in my favor...

it never went to arbitration...I let them mail the piece back...I told them that they had to pay shipping...and they did...

the piece arrived broken to me...hahaha...

sooooooooooooo...after being a nice guy...I got really beat on the deal anyway...

but my point is...the Ebay representative seemed to feel I described my ad fairly and said he would be willing to rule in my favor...

Mike:
Ah, it is best to not show several figures on a photo that is listed even if you state you are only selling one of the figures shown on the photo. I always get Insurance on my listings as well unless it is for an item that sells for under $10 or $20 or something like that. Stuff can get damaged in shipment even if well packed. Older K&C set boxes are not as good as their set boxes of recent years relative to protecting figures and therefore are more prone to damage relative to bayonets, rifles or swords that are pointing out. I am getting a set returned back to me now relative to two of the four figures in K&C set# EA 009 relative to damaged bayonets on two of the figures. Extra packing material around bayonets, etc on these older set boxes is probably a good thing to do which I did not do in the case of the item being returned to me now, ugh!
