Hi all,
first post here, I am pretty active over on the small scale HQ forums.
I am in close proximity to having my first child born, going through a change in my clients for work and moving all at once. I am in need of a large injection of money while I try to handle non-paying work like moving and just not being paid at all until my agent finishes negotiation with my current client or finds new ones to replace the ones I have/had.
So i have decided to sell my forces of Valor collection. Breaks my heart, but given the amount of FoV and 21st Century I have been doing as of late, I am headed into a 1/35 model building and painting direction. So selling the collection will make room in my display for my own built collection and give me money during this slow and important time.
The collection is very thorough and only missing few here and there like the 1st sherman and some of the 2007 releases which I have just not got around to purchasing yet. It would probably be easier to post what I don't' than what I do have in the collection. Sitting down and cataloging them all would take some time so I will do it only when or if interest is shown, but a brief rundown.
To start off they all or out of box and have their bases, info cards, crew and dioramas pieces intact.
Here is a list of what I have in brief, minus the 2007 releases which I will list at bottom the one I have bought so far.
all shermans minus the 1st
all jagdpanthers minus the 2007 release
all King tigers minus the 2007 with riders
all tigers minus the 2007 with riders
All wirblewinds incl 2007
all German halftracks and canon wagons etc
all stugs minus the one yellow gelb from italy (easily found, i know of one right now) including 2007 with riders
all the German heavy mover skdzf. halftracks, flak tracks and the one with soldiers on board from 2007.
all Russian tanks (green and winter) minus 2007 releases
Pershing tank
Uk camo Grant, but not the yellow plain one (can be found anywhere)
all Matildas including the action version with different pain scheme, minus the brown and yellow super rare one
all panzer IV short barrel tanks, including 2007 snowy paint scheme
all panzer IV long barrel minus 2007 version(s)
both German and American artillery (88 and howitzer)
1 panther (red 332), minus the yellow and black zigzag scheme, but I know of one here in town.
all version of US flack trucks
lots of soldier including, prisoners set and wounded soldier set
and 2 customs done on enthusiast tanks (photos below)
I am not wiling to sell these piecemeal yet unless you have an interesting offer for one you just have got to have like the Pershing etc.
I don't want to gut the collection of its rarest versions just yet, maybe later if no one bites on this offer.
This is a great way for you to get caught up and get the OOP tanks from rare to common (for now anyway) and if you owna store, you can put these behind glass to display the collection to envious customers.
They have all been stored in a large glass 7x7 case and what dust they do have I would remove with a can of air or a mini vac for electronics

I hate to sell it but the baby girl needs parents that are not freaked out from debt on day one. make me an offer and please keep in mind the fact most are OOP and were collected one by one sometimes at high cost due to rarity on ebay etc.
so I am not thinking offers at cost to be worth considering. Sorry already had those sheesh.
if you have a specific question if the collection has a certain version in it, feel free to ask, or any other questions you might have fire away

But here are the customs, if this forum allows pics to be posted otherwise they will be link to the pics
customs I will sell separately of course if you wish to make an offer.

I just sold a collection similar to yours and it did pretty good on Ebay. The t-34s, Panthers, Tigers, Pershing, Challenger will get the most money. There were some other good sellers like recon vehicles and accessory lots.
Good luck!

actually I think I bought from you, 2 shermans from 21st C.
a dozer sherman and a firefly

how much did you make in the end?
what was your thinking behind the grouping on auctions and why didn't you attempt to sell the whole lot at once in one large auction with a fairly decent buy it now option?

just looking for the best way to approach this if I decide to start selling them separately
thanks

I sold most tanks individually. Things like Kubelwagons, 88s and the accessories I sold in lots. The barrels and jerry cans that come with FOV vehicles add up and I had about a 100 of each. Those were sought after by a lot of people. I still have people e-mailing me. Some things surprised me like the FOV panthers. One sold at auction for $80 and the other I could have gotten as much for but I sold it without putting it on Ebay for $25 to someone who bought some other items from me and really wanted a Panther.

Some of the figures surprised me. Many wanted the 21st Century paratroopers with the flame coming out of the barrel. Sold four for $20. Most American and British tanks went for about $15 except the Pershing. The Soviet and German tanks I broke even with or sold for more than was paid for.

Ebay and Paypal fees are horrible but the convenience evens things out. Just make sure you charge enough for S&H. Here in Hawaii I used the flat rate boxes because once a box goes over a pound and it is being shipped to or from here the rates go through the roof. I stayed away from international shipping and only shipped to Canada and US. The flat rate boxes and priority boxes are free from USPS.com and they will ship them to your house for free.

I was never in it for making money. I had a good time collecting FOV and 21st vehicles and figures over the years. The collection is downsized and I collect 1/72nd Dragon, FOV and others and even have a few of the 21st 1/48th scale tanks and I still have my 1/32nd and 1/48th scale planes.

Good luck selling your collection.
