I have been selling some of my K&C on ebay. The other day I listed a K&C British ambulance. It was damaged as it had rolled off a shelf and broke in half. It was a break that I could still glue it back together but you could still see damage.
This retailed for $149 new. I listed it for $44.99 and in the heading wrote "See notes"
In the notes I explained the above and said "as is, no returns"
It sold and the buyer contacted me saying the piece broke in half again that he was going to re glue it.
So just to be safe I contacted ebay in regards could this guy still return this item as damaged and would I have to pay for the return postage. Well Sally from who knows where in her extremely broken English said yes to all of the above. Lucky for me the buyer has not requested any refund or other compensation.
How could ebay get by with such a policy when it is clearly stated through out the sale about the damage and no returns.
Anyone else have a similier situation?

Gary, I think she’s wrong. You fully disclosed that it’s damaged so he knows it was damaged. There’s no basis for a return.

I sell lots of stuff on ebay and there is no such thing as "No Returns". Anything you sell can always be returned and yes you will have to pay for return postage, although sometimes ebay pay for it if its only a minor issue.

ebay totally sides with the buyer. If the buyer is not happy about a spot or tiny scratch on something or the way it smells it can be returned. the buyer is always right.

so dont bother putting "no returns" on your ebay listing. it means nothing.

People are correct, as ebay does not allow a no returns policy.

It is also a mute point as all the buyer does is start a complaint case and after a certain amount of time ebay just refund the buyer anyway and take the funds from the seller.

I have had stuff returned which has really peeved me off, one buyer sent back a Thomas Gunn Tank, he really liked it but he thought it was to light in weight.
