Sergeant Major Quincannon... (1 Viewer)

You'll have to excuse my ignorance but are you talking about the Victor McLaglen role from the movie Rio Grande? I know that Kings X has a couple of special figures (e.g., John Wayne) and may have added a couple more although I don't know if Quicannon is one of them. I do know that you need to purchase $450 of product from Kings X to purchase one of these special figures.
 
Yep, they do a Victor McLaglen/Sergeant Major Quincannon figure to go with 'The Dook'. Didn't know you had to spend $450 with 'em to qualify for one though! Looks like I'm stumped now dunnit?

$450,thats quite a bit.Excuse also my ignorance of this genre but wasn't this the guy in several well know Westerns, who normally played the Sgt who liked a drink and a brawl?.

I've never really cared for Westerns but I think that's the kind of character he played.

Regarding the specific figure, I do remember seeing the Wayne figure on ebay once or twice so I wouldn't give up hope but, yes, I think that's a lot to pay just to get this figure. In your case, because you live in the UK, you'd have to pay customs duties, etc. if you bought from Kings X so it could get a little expensive.
 
What was it you didn't like about Westerns then Brad?.I've had this talk with Sir UK Reb before now,I quite liked some of JW films,but it was Clint Eastwoods more gritty Westerns I liked.

qualify for a figure.:)

I have also posted a picture of the John Wayne figure also a special give

away. So far there are 4 figures in KingsX's program the other two are the

Henry Fonda figure, and a Texas Ranger with scattergun.

The John Wayne figure is terrific. As for Victor McLaughlin he was a pretty good actor if not a bit typecast. He also starred in an Oscar winner of the 1930s' film "The Informant"

favorite whom I model myself after.....particularly in dress and appearance

A great Victor McLaglen movie although it's really Wayne and Maureen O'Hara's movie is The Quiet Man. Great role for John Wayne and McLaglen is outstanding.

John Ford did "The Informant" and as with many of his films he tended to use the same actors. It is a great film about the IRA, if my memory is correct. Ford also did a WW1 film called "The Lost Patrol", set in the mid-east, that also starred McLaughlin and Boris Karloff. -- lancer

One of my all time favorite movies. I watched it on DVD last week for about the 50th time.
 
Mclaughlin was also a professional boxer I believe.A heavyweight.

I would like to get these figures also and the Henry Fonda one as the depect characters from a couple of my favorite movies but I don't collect any KC ranges.They also have Teddy Roosevelt and the Roughriders but you can buy them outright.

The Quiet Man is probably my all time favorite JW movie if not the outright all time favorite.

Yes he actually had an exhibition bout with Heavyweight Champ Jack Johnson. I always thought he was wonderful when he played with John Wayne!
